5 back Days in Curacao

After the travel of the last two months the islands of Curacao and Bonaire were our “holiday” travel time. Both we had been to and loved in 2017 and it was exciting to be going back.
Curacao was our first stop for 5 nights. We spent our time visiting our favourite spots from our first trip and spending a bit more time in Willemstad the capital.
One of our first mayst does was watching the Rugby World Cup final in an Italian pub themed for Halloween. Not the result we hoped for but a great atmosphere as the pub/pizzeria was filled with the Curacao rugby club supporters. Most of which seemed to be hoping for an ABs win.
Other highlights in our next four days included:

• snorkeling back at the amazing wreck at Tugboat bay. Even more amazing as the water was calm and clear, so many fish!
• a visit north to see if our turtle friends still visited the same wharf to feed off fish scraps from the fishermen - they do but it is now tourist mecca and we were lucky we came early or we would have struggled to find a park. A huge difference to last time when we only found the spot as a local flagged our car down and suggested we might like to swim at the next bay.
• Visiting Willemstad Museum with a history of the islands involvement in the slave trade. Harrowing to see and read what actually happened.
• Visiting Jan Thiel beach for a sunset snorkel.
