"First we walked to Conchal beach then we walked to the middle of the beach and had a swim. After that we walked down to the end of the beach and built stuff out of sand. Then we walked back and had another swim and then snorkelled and we saw fish"

After a great end to our first week away we have moved about an hour down the coast to Brasilito. We chose here because it is next to Playa Conchal a beach famous for its beautiful beach made mostly from shells. A Westin takes up most of the bay so unless you want to spend around $1,000US a night then the best way to get there is from Brasilito, a 500m walk along the adjacent beach.
We are staying at the Conchal Hotel which is beautiful, it's like a little oasis just down the road from the town which is quite authentic and undeveloped. It has an amazing little pool amongst amazing gardens. The room and food is also amazing. We decided to stay here all of our 5 days in Brasilito instead of moving down to the other hotel on the beach which looks nice but not so peaceful and without a pool. We spent day one here just relaxing at the pool and walking into town for dinner at a local, family run place. Yesterday we walked to Playa Conchal and headed a further kilometre or so to the very south of the beach as well had read there was good snorkelling there. There was not...It was a stunning beach though and we all had so many dips in the sea I lost count. Unfortunately we are all a little sunburnt today so we will try and stay out of the sun. We are going to try catch a local bus to the next beach to get to a bank and explore the area a bit more. Tomorrow we will go back to Playa Conchal (and take a camera to capture how amazing it is).
