Day One - Swim count = 1. Big tick for the first swim. It was 31 degrees and the first thing we did once we checked in at our airport hotel was all jump in the pool. It is HOT! My perfect swimming weather especially as it's too hot to do much else especially for 6 year olds who have already said the one thing they don't want to do on holiday is walk anywhere.
I knew we'd only post pictures of the good stuff though.
No one grabs a camera when their child is vomiting at customs in the middle of the automatic machine taking their photo, they are too busy holding open a sick bag and being torn between being thankful on the one hand that they grabbed the bag off the plane in the first place and frustrated that the miles of queues ahead mean there is no rushing off to a bathroom anytime soon. Too bad we couldn't keep the machine photo.
None of us must have looked well. I hadn't slept on the 13 hour flight...at all. Sophia and Olivia only got in about 4 each and Rob was not too much better.
Sophia was sick as we landed and thankfully that was when I grabbed the extra bags. Then it was poor Olivia right as it was her turn for the customs machine to take her photo. They were both sick from the lack of sleep and landing as sure enough once we did get through the hour long queue and out of the airport they started coming right. So much so that it was hard to believe the two of them screaming and jumping in the pool had been sick at all, let alone had so little sleep. We finished the day with; burgers at Jack In The Box, icecreams from Shell (and a check out of beers at the service station, Rob very impressed), a viewing of the girls first squirrel (rated very cute) and a super early night. So far they have slept none stop for 13 hours.
It's now day two and we are waiting for the girls to wake up, 13 hours solid so far.
