Last week in the Caribbean

Our second week in Bonaire flew by. Now we are in NYC the time seems so long ago. Looking at the amazing pictures and remembering how clear the sea was, I feel very lucky and thankful for our time there. Even if on most days the heat and humidity meant I got grumpy. I guess that is why selective memory is good, especially reinforced by photos, it means I remember swimming in crystal clear water, dinners on the ocean and no rushing for anything. How I am going to get children to school in October, I don't know! We spent our last week:
  • Visiting the Bonaire National Park by ute, seeing fossils hundreds of thousands of years old
  • Enjoying a night out at the 'Taste of Bonaire' which I am sure is the most low key version of 'Taste of Auckland' you could imagine.
  • Snorkelling as many sites as we could
  • Trying to only go to the local gelato shop once a day
  • Trying to go to the amazing gelato shop only once a day
  • Enjoying our last snorkel on our last day with two turtles super close up, the best!!
We are now in NYC and Bonaire was never in the mainstream Caribbean hurricane paths but our thoughts go out to all those beautiful people and islands affected.

What's Happening?

Last year we took the plunge, left our jobs and set off travelling Central America and America for 3 and a half months. Now it’s 7 months later and we are off again to explore parts of South East Asia.
